Ben Townsend is a Partner and Head of Personal Injury (Leeds) at Stewarts Law LLP, where he specialises in complex, high-value personal injury claims, particularly those involving brain and spinal cord injuries, including cases with international elements. He has extensive experience advising on severe injury matters and has acted on numerous high-value claims, securing significant multimillion-pound settlements for his clients.

Ben began his legal career with Armstrong Foulkes in Middlesbrough before joining Stewarts in 2004, becoming an associate in 2005 and a partner in 2006. His expertise has been recognised in leading legal directories, with rankings in Band I by Chambers and Legal 500. He was also named ‘Partner of the Year’ at the Yorkshire Legal Awards in 2021.

A Fellow of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers, Ben also serves as a founding assessor for its brain and spinal cord injury panels and regularly speaks on personal injury topics to professional audiences, including organisations such as Headway UK, the Office of the Official Solicitor, BIRT and Barchester Homes.
